God's strength ...

Question of the day: Paul writes repeatedly in these the chapters of 2 Corinthians 11-13 about "boasting in his weakness".

Rabbi Trail: Hey Paul! This is not the way the world works. We're supposed to hide our weaknesses. Our goal is to look better than we really are, to appear stronger than we really are. Show people your weakness and they're likely to take advantage of you in that area. Oh, you already know. You're just showing how strong God is as He works through you. End RT.

What do we know about Paul's weakness?

Answer: Paul repeatedly prayed that God would remove his "thorn in the flesh". Paul then wrote God's response.

2 Corinthians 12:9 "But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Messiah may dwell in me."

Paul's assignment in the kingdom of God was to preach the message of God and thereby grow God's kingdom. Every time God's kingdom grew, Satan's kingdom shrank. So Satan opposed Paul by sending demons to oppose the growth of God's kingdom.

What overcomes opposition from Satan? God's strength ...

1 John 4:4 "You are from God, children, and you have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world."

To God be the glory. Let's all learn, as Paul did, to depend on the power of God at work in us to overcome every opposition.

Blessings. R. Michael.
