Grace

Grace - The common Christian acronym "G-d's Riches at Christ's Expense" doesn't do justice to this important word. Usually represented in the Hebrew Scriptures as chesed or 'lovingkindness', grace is G-d's unmerited favour - that is, favour that we have not deserved or earned in any way.

All the covenants in Scripture - from Adam to Yeshua, visiting Noah, Avraham, Moshe and David on the way - are a matter of grace: G-d reached down into our world and offered us relationship with Himself that we could not obtain in any other way. The ultimate expression of G-d's grace is Yeshua the Messiah who died in our place, that we might be forgiven.

But grace is more than theology, it is also a way of life: offering others the lovingkindness that we have been given. When we are gracious, we show G-d's love to others; when we are graceful, we speak and behave in a way that reveals G-d's love. How can we do that more and more each day? By being more aware of how much grace we have been given and choosing to bless others with G-d's grace. Why not ask G-d for an opportunity to show grace to someone today!
