Boldness - Joshua was told to "Be bold! be strong! ... for the L-rd your G-d is with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9). Isaiah picks up the theme saying, "Don't be afraid, for I have redeemed you; I am calling you by your name; you are Mine" (Isaiah 43:1, CJB). As Rav Sha'ul points out, "If G-d is for us, who can be against us? Who can separate us from the love of Messiah?" (Romans 8:31,35). We are to be bold in the face of this world, declaring the love of G-d and His plan to save sinners; we are to be strong against the lies of the enemy, proclaiming the truth of G-d's word so that people will hear, have faith and call upon Him; and we are not to fear man or what man can do, knowing that our G-d is greater and that He has called us each by name to be His. He has promised to be with us always - in all times, places and circumstances - so, being certain of His care and provision, knowing that He is faithful, we must take the battle to the enemy, not just waiting for him to move against us, but looking to take ground for the kingdom at all times and not flinching even in the heat of the fire.
