Translation: Psalm 103:1 "Bless Adonai, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy Name." (TLV) We start by calling on our souls to bless the Lord. How can this be done? We lay our hearts down. We submit our will to His will (remember the Lord's Prayer). Then we say, "All that is near and dear to me (K'ravai)." What do we do with all that is near and dear to us? There is only one verb in the whole sentence, we bless. What do we bless? There are two direct objects in the sentence - two receivers of the action (bless). The YHVH (God) and His Holy Name. God and His name are the same. As we give God His blessing, may we also receive His blessing upon us. Shalom, R. Michael.
