Have you defined yourself?
|
Can I take a minute to share my heart about something? What does it mean to be ... (you pick your own label)? Who are you in the kingdom of God? Whatever your answer, I hope it includes the phrase, "I am a child of God." Are there other labels you would use for yourself? Is Messianic believer a term you like? There are plenty of other labels. Many of them have been abused or abducted by people with whom I would not like to be lumped. This whole business of labels gets messy in a hurry. Better we just stick with Paul who writes, 1 Corinthians 2:2 "For I decided not to know about anything among you except Yeshua the Messiah - and Him crucified." As we say in (transliterated) Hebrew, Ayn Od - meaning "there is nothing more." Every cult wants to add something to Yeshua's perfect work on the cross. Since we are not a cult, we add nothing. One last thought ... nature abhors a vacuum. If we don't define ourselves, someone else will do it for us. We cannot allow others to define us, so we must define ourselves. All that to say again, I am a child of God. Blessings, R. Michael
