Psalm 133 - God has gives us life forevermore
|
Psalm 133:1-3 "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessing - life forevermore." NKJV Psalm 133 is perhaps one of the most quoted of the Scriptures. How familiar is the phrase Hine Ma-Tov meaning "behold what goodness". The rest of the verse Shevet Achim Gam-Yachad meaning "brothers dwell together as one" holds a lifetime of meaning for a congregation of Jewish and non-Jewish persons. Both verse 2 and 3 start with a "K" sound. This Hebrew prefix means "like" or "as". In verse 2 "like good oil" while in verse 3 "like Mount Hermon". In verse 2, oil is running down the beard of Aaron. In verse 3, dew of Mount Hermon is running down the mountains of Zion. Verse 3 ends with God commanding a blessing in Zion. That blessing is eternal life. A Zionist is one who believes that Jewish people should live in the promised land. Why am I a Zionist? Because Zion is that place is where God COMMANDED the blessing of eternal life.
