feast (Hebrew 'khag') - Another 'motion' word, this is usually translated 'feast' or 'festival', but comes from a geminate root khaf-gimel-gimel meaning to spin round. An easy step from there is dancing, so to the common meaning of 'feast'. We are to be so excited about the feasts that we dance and sing, we spin round and show just how delighted and involved we are in G-d's plans and purposes for our lives and the whole of creation. Sometimes, G-d moves in such a dazzling and surprising way that our head spin when we see what is going on - are you ready for Him to do something amazing in your life? What are you expecting? The festival of Sukkot is the time when we celebrate Yeshua coming to this earth, taking human form and pitching His tent here among us. If He could do this, how much more can He also do, right in front of our eyes, if we ask and are looking to see? Open your eyes and expect great things of our G-d this Sukkot.
