Psalm 132 - God gives His people rest
|
Psalm 132:13-14 "For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place: This is My resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it." NKJV Ki-Vachar means because or on account of, so what is Vachar (usually Bachar)? Some translations are selected, preferred, chosen, and my personal favorite, selected from among the choicest. So, this opening phrase might be translated, "Because the Lord has selected the best among the choicest (place) from within Zion ... Yes, God has longed for and even had a craving for a place for Himself to dwell. Verse 14 then goes on: This is My rest forever and ever, eternally; here (this is the place) I will dwell because I have desired and even craved it. Why is the entire world focused on getting Jewish people out of Zion? There are many who have made a "science" out of proving there is no historical connection of Jewish people to Zion. Why? Because if God's people can be separated from the promised land, then God is a liar and it is impossible that God could lie. Keep the faith.
