Psalm 131 - God has called us to hope in Him

Psalm 131:3 "O Israel, hope in the Lord from this time forth and forever." NKJV

This will likely be short: there are only 7 Hebrew words in the one verse.

The first word, Yachel, is the only verb in the verse. Hope, appears twice in Psalm 130 and here it is again at the end of Psalm 131. When it appeared in Psalm 130, we tied it to the concept of "waiting with expectation".

Here, Israel waits with expectation on YHVH from now until forever and ever. Ad is forever in time and Olam is forever in space (the universe).

So, in these 7 words we have who (Israel), what (wait with expectation or hope), when (now and forever [and ever]), and most importantly, the direct (or in this case the indirect) object, the Lord YHVH, Himself. One verse of Scripture has the whole meaning of life. No surprise there.
