"So they brought what Moses commanded before the Tent of Meeting, and the entire congregation drew near and stood before Adonai. Moses said, 'This is what Adonai commanded that you shall do, so that the glory of Adonai may appear to you.' Moses said to Aaron, 'Draw near to the altar, and bring your sin offering, and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself and for the people. Then present the offering for the people, and make atonement for them, as Adonai commanded.'" (Leviticus 9:5-7) Salvation has never been about works. And, in the Torah, G-d's grace is evident. It is important to understand that while we don't work for our salvation, He in fact remains a Holy G-d. Our obedience to Him helps us to see who He is. If you desire to see more of who He is and you desire to be closer to Him, spend some time thinking about ways to obey Him. In John 15, Yeshua said, that He kept his Father's commandments and He abides in love. First, know His commandments. Second, keep them. It is this fundamental reality that keeps our relationship to G-d intimate.
