News from Shomair Yisrael

Chanukah lighting

Chanukiah lighting ceremony at 7PM on Saturday, December 24th. Thanks to the generosity of Michael McMillen, our congregation has a 6 ft. Chanukiah that is lit on the front lawn of the synagogue. We will invite the media to film the beginning of our 8 day Chanukah celebration. Come and pray with us as we sing the blessings together.

Chanukah Party

Chanukah party after the service (during oneg) on Saturday, December 31st. Plenty of potato latkes, Chanukah songs, your Chanukiah and (of course) a great game of dreidel. Sounds like the ingredients of a great Chanukah party.

Bat Mitzvah

Mariah Blair will celebrate her Bat Mitzvah during our worship service on Saturday, January 7th. All are welcome to attend and rejoice with the Blairs and the kingdom of God as Mariah takes her place among the chosen people of God.

Very Special Guests

Dan and Patty Juster are coming to minister at Shomair on the week of January 14th. This will happen at our regular Shabbat morning service (10:30AM). There will also be a Shabbat dinner (at 6PM) and Kabbalat Shabbat service (at 7PM) with Dan and Patty on Friday night, January 13th.
