Passover: The Season of Our Redemption
|
The theme of Passover is redemption. Each year we focus our celebration on G-d's mighty deliverance of Israel from Egyptian slavery and we tell of this deliverance in our Passover Seder. The Jewish Passover is the archetype of all of G-d's great redemptive acts throughout history, culminating in the greatest redemptive act of all time - Yeshua's death on the cross. The killing of the Passover lamb and the placing of its blood on the doors of each Jewish home is the background of understanding the death of Yeshua. As the angel of death passed over the houses of the Israelites who were protected by the blood, even so we are passed from death unto life by the atoning blood of Yeshua. May we all know G-d's redemption this Passover!
