Let's just stop and consider what a great blessing we have from God. 1 Corinthians 2:10: "But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit." NKJV When we read this verse, what is meant by the word "them"? The verse quotes Isaiah 64 and tells us what "them" revealed (things) are. Isaiah 64:4: "For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he (God) hath prepared for him (man) that waiteth for (loves) him (God)." The waiting that is translated as "love" in many New Testament translations as they quote this verse, is not just passing time, but longing for the one who has yet to return to us. Then, the expectation is revealed. 1 Corinthians 2:12: "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God." NKJV As we consider such a great blessing, let us be renewed, encouraged, emboldened, and made steadfast with such a great expectation.
