A History of Tikkun: Relationship and Accountability

Plus, we believed other things. And each time I share one of these things it makes us a smaller segment of the Messianic Jewish movement.

The next thing we believe in is committed, covenant relationships of mutual accountability. Not where one man leads a group of 'yes men' but where strong leaders come together and so value each other's life that they pledge themselves to walk together in love and mutual accountability and correction. And they establish principles of due process and justice and accountability, so that the sheep are not abused, so that they have a court of appeal, and so our congregations can walk together in a framework of greater safety.

When we embraced all of that, we found ourselves an even smaller minority within the Messianic Jewish movement. So we formed this network and we grew and grew in the United States until we had five congregations, 10 congregations, 15 congregations. Now about 20 American congregations are connected with us.
