A Challenge to Jewish Christians in Churches - Part Two
|
Yesterday we told you about the first part of Daniel Juster's article to Jewish Christians in churches, written in a style of a letter. One might expect him to tell Jewish Christians to leave the church they are attending and find a Messianic Jewish congregation that will support and encourage them in their calling. However, his answer is quite clear: I am not asking you to change your congregation; the congregation you belong in is the one to which you are truly led by the Spirit. What I am asking you to do is to consider your Jewish calling and identity. If you are a part of a church, that's great - embrace your calling where you are and where God has placed you! Daniel Juster lists several several ways for a Jewish Christian to live out their Jewish calling, which include: connecting to other Jewish people in a serious way, visiting Israel and meeting Jewish believers there, incorporating Jewish life into your personal and family life patterns and - lastly, but by no means least - studying your Jewish heritage, preferably with others. It's a four-page article, packed with a lot of very important insights and challenges for all of us. You can read it here on the Tikkun America website. Is this a new concept to you or confirmation of teaching you have already had? Let us know!
