Nature is not to be left alone as self-sufficient. Rather, it is to be cultivated. I then consider how Adam - read 'mankind' - is to accomplish this task. The understanding of the original creation ideal for male and female in the human race is of paramount importance because it provides the foundation for understanding the effects of the fall and the meaning of the restoration of the creation Next, "Man as Male and Female", chapter 3.
