The Order of Creation

The first chapter of the book starts with the order of creation as found in Genesis 1. The book of Genesis begins with this amazingly start statement: God idi not make the universe from previously existing material, but from nothing.

In one sense, this is not coherent. How can one conceive of making something out of nothing?

I then consider the process of each day of creation, ending with Shabbat - the seventh day. I conclude that the Bible, rightly understood, is pro-ecology; but does not permit the deification of nature. After surveying Psalm 104, we can observe that:

The evidence of the Bible, that God is enriched by his people and by the creation is overwhelming.
