Rededicate Yourself!

Wow! That was one great Chanukah. Now that Chanukah is over, and everyone is done immersing you in their Chanukah messages and greetings, I feel free to add my own as one last piece of Chanukah dessert.

"Chanukah" is the Hebrew word for "dedication." On the original Chanukah, the Holy Temple was rededicated by the victorious Macabees. Today there is no Temple to dedicate. What we learn from Scripture is that we are the Temple.

1 Corinthians 3:16 Don't you know that you are God's temple and that the Ruach Elohim dwells among you?

Since we are now the Temple, we must dedicate ourselves to God and His purposes. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Ruach ha-Kodesh who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.

I can't wish you a merry Chanukah at this point, because it's over. But I can pray that God will take what He began on Chanukah and continue to nurture it. That He may give you a special time of dedication to walking in newness with Him in every area of life. As we say in Hebrew, Aych Sidarta Oti, meaning "how You have ordered me" (put me in order).

There is a lot to life. There are finances, our profession (or workplace), for some education, for everyone relationships, ...

Rabbi Trail: Relationships is a huge category. Working from the inside - out, there is immediate family, extended family, close friends, friends, and acquaintances. God wants to be Lord of every relationship. You are Messiah's representative or ambassador to everyone in your sphere of influence, both those close and to those at a distance. Let Him in and enjoy His blessing. End RT.

... community (or congregational) life, recreational life, and so much more. God wants to be Lord of it all. When He reigns in our hearts, every part of who we are is open to Him.

Proverbs 4:23 Guard your heart diligently, for from it flow the springs of life.

We comport ourselves in the light of His love. We don't just receive His love, we live in alignment with His love and share His love with others, all others.

Colossians 3:15,17 Let the shalom of Messiah rule in your hearts - to this shalom you were surely called in one body. Also be thankful ... And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Yeshua, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Pray about these things. They are keys to a joy filled life.
