Your Destiny - The Right Hand Of God!

Today we are focused on the name of the 12th (and last) son born to Jacob, Benjamin (Rachel #2). This was a difficult pregnancy and the delivery was tragic. Genesis 35:18 And as her (Rachel's) soul was departing, for she died, she called his name Ben-oni [son of my sorrow]; but his father called him Benjamin [son of the right hand]. All the other sons were named by their respective mother (or matriarch for those 4 born to Bilhah and Zilpah). Now, in the birth of this 12th son, Benjamin's mother, Jacob's beloved Rachel, dies in child birth. The last thing she does on earth is name him "son of my sorrow" (Ben-oni). However; his father, Jacob, overrides her last act to give him a new name, Benjamin, meaning "son of the right hand."

The Lord wastes nothing. That is to say, there is no waste in the kingdom of God. Everything has a purpose, and that purpose is to give God glory. Even Satan and his minions (demons), who work mischief, pain, suffering and death have the purpose to give God glory. You might ask, "How?" Because God will have the ultimate victory and all the fruit of sin will be done away. I may unpack this further another day.

Isaiah 51:11 Now the ransomed of Adonai will return, and come to Zion with singing. Everlasting joy will be upon their heads. They will obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

Yes, the people of God have a destiny, and what we are experiencing in this world is not it. Follow my progression here.

1. Yeshua is seated at the right hand of the Father. Hebrews 1:3 This Son is the radiance of His glory and the imprint of His being, upholding all things by His powerful word. When He had made purification for our sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. (See also Hebrews 12:2, 1 Peter 3:22 and Acts 7:55, where Stephen receives a standing ovation from Yeshua.)

2. Yeshua has gone to prepare a place for us. John 14:2 In My Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? Where has He gone? ... to the right hand of the Father (see #1 above).

3. We will join Him there. Why has He gone to the right hand of the Father? ... to prepare a place for us. John 14:3 If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to Myself, so that where I am you may also be. Is this an isolated Scripture void of biblical support? Not at all ... there is plenty more evidence.

Peter confessed leaving the world behind and then asked Yeshua what would be his destiny. Listen carefully to Yeshua's answer and by faith receive it as a promise for yourself. Matthew 19:28 And Yeshua said to them, "Amen, I tell you, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne in the new world, you who have followed Me shall also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Is this only for the 12, or for "you who have followed Me?" We all partake of communion as we express our belief that there is a "seat at the table" of His kingdom for us, both individually and collectively.

Our new life begins when we "see the Son" (Reuben), and ends (it doesn't ever "end" but has a destiny or logical conclusion) when we are seated at the right hand of the Father (Benjamin). We'll fully recap these teachings in a few days.
