Intercession

This week's Torah portion begins with the act by Pinchas that turns G-d's anger away from the people. We are not all called to rush round with spears, but we are all called to a certain level of intercession for others before G-d. How are you getting on with that today? You can see the daily Parasha and Bible reading plan for this week and here is the drash for Pinchas.

Please pray for the network this week ...

It's a quiet week around the network. On Sunday El Shaddai have Immersions and a Famiy Day at Pinecliffe Park, as well as Dorcas ministry and outreach. In the afternoon Shomair Yisrael have their last Shabbat class, which is the gateway to membership, and Brit Hadasha have their third Enquirer's Class. On Wednesday Adat Chaim have Emerging Leaders Group, which is meeting online at 6pm.

The Bible verse for this week is ...

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations." (Jeremiah 1:5, NASB)

These are the words that G-d speaks to Jeremiah and are very specific to the prophet - but it is true that G-d knew each of us before we were formed in the womb! This week, let us praise His name for His love and ask Him if He has consecrated us for a specific task.
