This week we begin the final week of counting the Omer (according the vast majority of tradition) and in the Torah reading cycle we begin the third book, B'midbar. This book has more narrative than Vayikra, which we have just finished, and the story of our people's journey in the wilderness continues. You can see the daily Parasha and Bible reading plan for this week and here is the drash for B'midbar.
Please pray for the network this week ...
Today Beit Hallel have their monthly Men's and Sisterhood gatherings and Adat Chaim have a baby shower and Men's fellowship. On Tuesday evening Brit Hadasha have a special Erev Rosh Chodesh service and Tikvat Israel have Torah Study. Dan and Patty Juster fly from Israel to the begin their US speaking itinerary. On Thursday evening Beit Simcha have Bible Study and on Friday evening El Shaddai have their monthly Toldot Erev Shabbat dinner. On Shabbat Beth Am Messiah, Shoresh David and Or Chaim all have special guest speakers in honour of Shavuot, so don't forget to pray for them this Shabbat!
The Bible verse for this week is ...
"But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired. And if they were all one member, where would the body be? But now there are many members, but one body." (1 Corinthians 12:18-20, NASB)
It is important to remember that we are one part of a body and that not all parts are the same. This week, let us remember that just because someone else has a different function from us in the Kingdom, they are not any less than us!
