Exciting reading ahead!

This week we begin the first full week of January and reading the book of Shemot, which contains our redemption from Egypt and the giving of the Torah; both of these events are foundational moments in the story of the Jewish people and in our faith. Exciting reading ahead! You can see the daily Parasha and Bible reading plan for this week and here is the drash for Shemot.

Please pray for the network this week ...

Ohev Yisrael and Or Chaim both have men's meetings this morning and Shomair Yisrael starts ten weeks of HaYesod classes this afternoon. On Wednesday folks from Adat Chaim are serving dinner at a local church. On Shabbat Brit Hadasha have special guests join them for ordaining a new elder and in the afternoon El Shaddai are running the Dorcas ministry and outreach.

The Bible verse for this week is ...

"Then Yeshua said to them, 'I ask you now: what is permitted on Shabbat? Doing good or doing evil? Saving life or destroying it?'" (Luke 6:9)

This isn't just about what is permitted on Shabbat, this is about our attitude towards other people, to doing good, to compassion. This week, let's review where we stand on these issues!
