Purim Week

Purim begins on Monday evening - hag sameach! Have you got your groggers ready to drown out the name of Haman and the hamentaschen cooked to celebrate the redemption brought to our people in Persia? You can see the daily Parasha and Bible reading plan for this week and here is the drash for Ki Tissa.

Please pray for these events this week

This morning, El Shaddai have Women's Book Club and Young Families Home Group, while this afternoon Beit Hallel have their monthly Sisterhood gathering. Beth Am Messiah and Shomair Yisrael have their Purim parties this afternoon, while Beit Mashiach, Ohev Yisrael and Beth Am Messiah meet for Megillah readings on Monday evening.

On Wednesday evenning Adat Chaim have Young Adult Discipleship and Elim have their Purim celebration and on Thursday Beit Simcha have their bi-monthly Bible Study Class. This Shabbat Brit Hadasha have "The Journey", a special wekeend conference for the ladies of the congregation! Tikvat Yisrael have a congregational Purim Party on Saturday evening, while Rabbi Mark from Beit Hallel is speaking at Elim's evening service.

The Bible verse for this week is ...

"For if you fail to speak up now, relief and deliverance will come to the Jews from a different direction; but you and your father's family will perish. Who knows whether you didn't come into your royal position precisely for such a time as this." (Esther 4:14, CJB)

The second half of this verse is often quoted and is an inspirational thought indeed, but the first half is perhaps a little more challenging: will we stand aside and let relief come from someone else while we remain silent, or are we going to step forward and part of the advancement of the Kingdom and deliverance to those in need?
