Elijah

Question of the day: These verses of today's reading tell a powerful story. Compare and contrast the evil of Ahab with the righteousness of Elijah. How did Elijah show his faith?

Answer: Elijah repeatedly followed the instructions of God. As a result, Elijah enjoyed God's provision. First in the wadi where he was kept safe while drinking from a spring in the wadi and being fed by ravens. Then on to the widows house where he was again fed.

I'm impressed that when the widow's son died, Elijah "stretched himself upon the child three times." He never gave up on God and continued to act in faith until the boy+was restored to life. That should inspire us to do great things in the name of the Lord.
