Standing up to Satan

Have you ever been robbed? Ever had your car broken into? I have one friend suffering through identity theft. I wouldn't wish any of this on anyone. I simply bring it up so that we can take a moment to identify with the sense of violation we feel when our private space is invaded by unwelcome intrusion.

Every day we are under the attack of the enemy. Yeshua spoke these words ... John 10:10a "The thief comes only to steal, slaughter, and destroy." Yet we barely take notice. How about another new year resolution to take back what has been stolen from us? Satan's permanent assignment is to separate the people of God from their inheritance (destiny). Our inheritance is revealed to us through the promises of God. Satan wants to convince us that God is a liar.

Where is our deep sense of indignation? Every day we must prepare for battle by reading the Word of God. Every "weapon" we have is armor. Armor is defensive. The only offensive weapon is the sword of the spirit (this is a spiritual battle) which the Bible. Ephesians 6:17 "And take the helmet (defensive armor) of salvation and the

sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

Yet reading is not enough. Even Satan reads. Satan's problem is that he is not submitted (under authority) to the Word of Truth. If we are not submitted, it is our problem too. Don't miss the synonym of submitted, obedient. "Trust and obey, for there's no other way," says the children’s song.

2 Corinthians 10:4-6 "For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly but powerful through God for the tearing down of strongholds. We are tearing down false arguments

and every high-minded thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. We are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Messiah - ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete."
