Acceptance

Question of the day: Why does this verse touch my heart in such a tender way? Genesis 33:10 "Yet Jacob said, 'No, please! If I have found favor in your eyes, then you will take my offering from my hand. For this is the reason I've seen your face - it is like seeing the face of God - and you've accepted me!'"

Answer: All of us want to be accepted. After all, it's the opposite of rejected (which nobody likes). Acceptance is validation. We each want our life to count for something.

Jacob spoke rightly. In fact, the ultimate acceptance is by God, It is He Who held out his arms wide and said (in Matthew 11:28-30) "Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is

easy and My burden is light."

And then, there is the value of humility which is where much blessing starts. 1 Peter 5:6-7 "Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may

lift you up at the appropriate time. Cast all your worries on Him, for He cares for you."

Jacob said that seeing his brother was like looking into the face of God. Seeing someone filled with the love of Yeshua is also like looking into the face of God. Seeing Yeshua IS looking into the face of God.

Yeshua loves (accepts) you. Be blessed. R. Michael.
