Enduring sound doctrine

We found this piece of teachign by Guy Cohen on the Harvest of Asher Facebook page and wanted to share it with you ...

How is it possible that those of us who have received Yeshua as Messiah and call ourselves Believers might one day not endure sound doctrine? This is the warning of Paul to Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:1-8.

Paul warns that through the desire of people to hear what they want, they open themselves up to various teachings; to false teachers. Our knowledge of the Word should be leading us toward a life of faith not of control. Our use of the Word should be to support one another; instead it is all to often used against one another. How often has faith reverted into religion; the fate of the first congregation which soon disappeared?

Many of us may be able to identify with the struggle of knowing for certain where it is God want us. This should be easily understood through the Word in our lives. When the soul or our thoughts and desires interfere it is the Word which divides between soul and spirit. (Hebrews 4:12)

As we consider the above, Paul's words to Timothy take on even more meaning ... preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. (Hebrews 4:2) ... be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. (Hebrews 4:5)

May the day come when Yeshua, the righteous Judge, will award us along wth all who have loved His appearing. (Hebrews 4:8)
