Holiness

Holiness - Israel as a people was told by G-d, "Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am holy" (Vayikra 11:44). This is echoed by Peter, writing to the Jewish believers dispersed around the Mediterranean, "Like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves in all your behaviour because it is written, 'You shall be holy, for I am holy'" (1 Peter 1:15-16).

This applies to both Jew and Gentile, whoever believes in Messiah Yeshua and is called by Him. How are we to be holy, what can we do to set ourselves apart for Him, in what way can we follow His example? Why not start by spending just five minutes each morning reviewing with the L-rd what you are planning to do during the day; ask Him to show you how to be holy in each of those situations: not using inappropriate or coarse language, being modest and humble, demonstrating honesty, showing compassion.

As each day passes, we will take on the character of Yeshua as we ask Him and practice what He tells us.
