Tikvat Israel

Recently the Tikkun America network has been enlarged by the addition of another congregation - Tikvat Israel Messianic Synagogue!

Tikvat Israel is a Messianic synagogue at the corner of Boulevard and Grove, across from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, in the center of Richmond, VA ... Tikvat Israel's mission is to build a congregation for Yeshua within the Richmond Jewish community. We accept the notion that we are part of the Jewish world and view ourselves as a movement within Judaism, i.e. Messianic Judaism. What makes Tikvat Israel unique is our acknowledgment that Yeshua is the Messiah of Israel. Starting with the proposition that we are part of the Jewish community allows us to emphasize what needs emphasis within Judaism, most importantly that Yeshua is the Messiah.

The Associate Rabbi is David Wein, who is the Rabbi-in-training while pursuing ordination with the UMJC. David is a local Richmond boy, married to Sonya - here's something to help you get to know him:

He loves talking about Torah and theological narrative, coming alongside others in their walk with Hashem, spending quality time with his beautiful wife, writing and playing music on the piano, making up words, going to coffee shops, learning and teaching languages, making friends, walking around the downtown areas of various cities and towns, and making people laugh.

Do have a look round the Tikvat Israel website - where you'll find their mission statement, information about their leadership team and links to some of their latest sermons - and please lift up this congregational community in prayer.
