Psalm 122 - God has appointed our destiny to praise Him

Psalm 122:5-2 "For thrones are set there for judgment, the thrones of the house of David. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: 'May they prosper who love you.'" NKJV

The amplified understanding of verse 5 is: "Because there are judgment seats set there, seats for the house of David."

Let's take a minute to understand the opening word, "because". This word connects this verse to the previous one. Verse 4 speaks about this place as a place where thanks is offered to God. Where else do we see these seats in Scripture? Yes, Revelation 11:16-17 ...

"And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying: 'We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned.'" NKJV

Why 24? 12 tribes (notice Psalm 122:4) plus 12 Apostles = 24 judgment seats, in the house of David. In fact, David's son, Solomon, was the last Jewish king to rule over all 12 tribes. David's other royal son, Yeshua, had 12 Apostles. Again, David's house.

Verse 6 begins with one of the most famous phrases in the Bible, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem." Something is promised to those who love "you". (The "you" refers to the previous noun, Jerusalem.) That's right, you know and so do I, that the promise to those who love Jerusalem is they will PROSPER!

It is simpler than most people want to make it. If we want to receive God's blessing, we must love what He loves. God loves Jerusalem. It is mentioned 821 times in the New King James Version.

Psalm 102:18+21 "This will be written for the generation to come, That a people yet to be created may praise the Lord. This people is the community of believers in Messiah Yeshua ... To declare the name of the Lord in Zion, And His praise in Jerusalem" KJV

As the family of God, our destiny is to praise His name in Jerusalem. So we continue to ascend the steps that lead to the presence of God.
