Listening to those who would lead us toward idolatry

Perhaps we think of idolatry being only relevant in the times of the kingdoms of Israel and Judah, when they had heathen high places - but the New Covenant Scriptures have quite a bit to say about idolatry!

Although they refer to physical idols and false gods, Matthew 6:24 and Colossians 3:5 consider anything to be a "god" or an idol that competes with the one true God by becoming man's master, or that we put ahead of the one true God.

That's challenging today, when we lead such busy lives and can't seem to get away from other people's opinions of what - or who - we should be serving. Take the time to read this Mitzvah today and see if it makes a difference to your attitiude!
