Dual Expression

The Messianic congregation is a practical answer to the two-thousand-year tug-of-war between the Church and the Synagogue. In the very teeth of controversy and anti-Semitism, it can adequately testify that Yeshua is the Messiah and Savior of Israel to the Jewish Community and to the Church that Yeshua is a Jew, a son of Israel and that anti-Semitism is anti-Jesus. It can be a living bridge of understanding between the Church and the Synagogue. It can be, at once, part of the Jewish community and an expression of the single universal Body of Believers.

There is another model of dual expression noted that could also bear much fruit. It is the model of a non-Jewish congregation that understands and encourages the Jewish identity of its Jewish members to the enhancement of the whole congregation. This option hardly seemed possible twenty years ago; but today, we have examples of it. Messianic Jews must stand for - and with - the whole Body of Believers.
