Omer Devotional: Stand Still

We are taking the 7 weeks of the counting of the omer to become renewed in every way. One way to see this journey is an "ascending" or being called to a higher calling. The calling to Mt. Zion is known in Hebrew as Aliyah. To survive and even thrive in this calling requires renewal of vision.

We must see ourselves as God sees us. His vision is not only a heavenly perspective, but His is an eternal perspective as well. Long ago, at the initial leaving of Egypt, all Israel was commanded to stand still ...

Exodus 14:13-14: "And Moses said to the people, 'Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace." NKJV

God is still on the throne. The venue has changed, but the enemy has not. Neither has God changed. God will again fight for us and we shall hold our peace.
