Renewal of Messianic Judaism and the Church Part One

Question: Many Christians believe that there will be a powerful end-time renewal of the Church before the return of Jesus. Can you explain how the regathering and renewal of Israel is intertwined with the renewal of the church? For example, why is the renewal of Israel as a nation - and within that the emergence of Messianic Judaism - of vital importance to every pastor who wants to see a true renewal in his congregation?

It was about 25 years ago that the Lord began to reveal to me, and independently Asher, the same theology on this. It was very funny. We had a Bible school called Messiah Biblical Institute, which morphed and changed into an international number of schools called the International Messianic Jewish Bible Institute (MJBI). It was really amazing because both of us wanted to teach the course on the end times, or eschatology. I was concerned that Asher wouldn't teach the right things and he was concerned that I wouldn't teach the right things. So we got together on a picnic bench and talked out what we thought about the subject and we found that we had the same thing in mind.

I believe that when you look at Yeshua’s prayer in John 17 - that they might be one that the world may believe - that prayer has to be answered before He/Yeshua returns. Obviously when He returns we’re going to be one, but He's calling for us to work toward becoming one now.

This is not an ecumenical, sloppy movement, but that the true believers who are committed and submitted to the commission of the Word of God, that they would come into cooperative unity in every city; and I believe that this can only happen through an outpouring of revival. Because in the history of church it is only revivals that bring you that kind of unity, though there is a prayer unity of a minority that prepare for that unity.
