Tikkun International Update - Part One
|
Patty and I want to thank you all so very much for your love and support for the our ministry. Over the next few days I will be explaining an exciting transition and change of direction. To give you a sense of this, I want to give some history in this first post. In 2000, Patty and I made Aliya (became citizens of Israel and made arrangements to give up our income from Beth Messiah Congregation). We believed we were called to strengthen the works in Israel and to see Israel as a base for our travels, for teaching and to distribute our writings. This required us taking on a role as Tikkun emissaries and raising support through a ministry name we initially called Remembrance of Zion. However, shortly after we obtained our citizenship and started our mailing list, Asher Intrater sensed that we were not to have this separate name but that we should be known under the name Tikkun International. After the leadership prayed and confirmed this, Patty and I agreed. Since that time Tikkun International has supported the compensation packages for Patty and me and has also been a fund that has given substantially to support the other ministries in the Land of Israel, and to a lesser degree, ministries outside the Land. This arrangement has continued for the past 11 years and served us well. Do come back on Sunday to read about what has been happening in the last few months.
