Israel at War - a Snapshot

David and I decided to write this aricle during the recent Gaza war, but it has been published now that the smoke and dust have settled.

It is clear to all who have eyes and ears, that this battle bypasses the logic of the mind. It is as much a spiritual battle as a physical one.

Once again, our God is pushing us towards a more radical and total dependence on Him as the nation has suffered days of continual rocket attacks aimed explicitly against civilians.

Early one morning, the two of us, together with a few other men from our congregation left the quiet, peaceful northern region of Israel, traveling south to bring material, emotional and spiritual encouragement to Israeli soldiers stationed near Gaza.

You can read our account of that trip and the lessons it taught us about trusting in God when under fire here but do feel free to comment here or on the bottom of the article, and let us know what you think.
