Have you considered that the Mosaic Law was not a dispensation of law as opposed to a dispensation of grace in the New Testament? Certainly there was "greater grace" with the coming of Jesus in the New Testament, but these are not the contrasts we are meant to understand. Rather the Mosaic Law was a gracious constitution that refined (enabled) Israel's ability to fulfill her original call to be a light to the nations and a blessing to the world. The nations could look and see the wisdom in it and the all-wise God behind it, and be attracted to Him. Israel failed by breaking the Law, but God provided a New Covenant whereby they could and would be successful in their mission. We see the beginnings of this in the early chapters of the book of Acts after the Holy Spirit has written the Law on the hearts of the early Messianic Jews and they are empowered and go out and begin to fulfill their original call to bless the nations. So God has not replaced Israel with the Church, but simply added the Church to Israel's saved remnant in order to assist Israel in her original mission – world redemption!
