The fourth section of our book "Conveying a Heritage" is about the very important feast that comes on the fiftieth day or after seven weeks of counting the Omer from the Feast of Firstfruits. Jewish tradition holds that this was when Israel received the Covenant-Torah at Sinai ... It is a Shabbat, a day off and in honor of the Torah Jewish men stat up all night studying the Torah ... Most importantly, Shavuot is the day the Holy Spirit was poured out upon the 120 disciples gathered in the upper room in Jerusalem. Connecting with the mainstream Jewish community at this time can be rewarding and a great way of demonstrating continuity with the Jewish people. May the Holy Spirit be especially dear and real to us all during this season. Shavuot points to that age in which all will be filled with the Spirit. You can purchase the book here.
